Note: It is suggested that students complete the Secondary III ACGC, Draft of a Personal Profile and Occupational Preferences and Personal Profile before working on this ACGC.
In order to meet the objectives of this ACGC item students must:
- Organize what he/she has learned about himself/herself in order to review and adjust the personal profile as needed
The Learning Strategy for this ACGC is ORGANIZE. This means that the lesson must explicitly teach students how to organize information.
ORGANIZE:
Construct a body of information or knowledge based on a set of characteristics or an arrangement that makes it possible to identify or enhance the semantic value or meaning (Bégin 2008)ORGANIZE:

- group together the meaningful things they learned about themselves by drafting a Personal Profile
- set goals and identify reference points that will help them steer their career planning
- organize their findings in order to present themselves in a way that shows connections between the values, aptitudes, interests and aspirations important to them in their academic and personal life

- If students have not already completed a Draft Personal Profile, it is advantageous to have them complete this exercise by referring to the Secondary III ACGC
- Students may want to retake some of the quizzes proposed in Secondary III, in the event that they feel the results may no longer be a good reflection of their character (see Secondary III ACGC)
- Have students group interests, aptitudes, values and aspirations to show relationships between these element
- Students can enhance their understanding of their interests, aptitudes, values and aspirations by learning about the concept of worldview and discuss what their own worldview has in common with that of their classmates, and how it differs. In so doing, they will have organized their ideas into a personal schema.
- To demonstrate their understanding, students can debate topics like:
- Extracurricular activities are essential to student success
- Work Experience Vs Education: What's the Difference?
- Relationships Vs Financial Success
- Is it better to aim high and fail or aim low and succeed?
- Students may organize their ideas by:
- creating a Resume, Curriculum Vitae, or a Covering Letter that could be used to apply into the program of their choice in Post-secondary or the World of Work
- Writing an expository text to discuss their personal worldview
- Creating a work of art or presenting themselves using media
