ACGC and Specal Needs

Article 461 of the Education Act stipulates that all students in Quebec must experience the Academic and Career Guidance Content outlined by MEES. That being said, Article 234 of the Education Act indicates that certain modifications to the content can be made to meet the special needs of some students.

ACGC is for CASP and Challenges

All students have questions about their future and and their place in the world to come. ACGC is designed to help students understand who they are and what they will be able to do once they finish high school.

Teaching Ideas:

Adapt activities for Cycle Three Elementary and Cycle One Secondary by altering written expectations
Consider making one or two ACGC items themes for a semester and create multiple short activities to get the message across
Provide opportunities for students to experience real work-life situations

MyBlueprint and Special Needs

My Blueprint's career education resources are available in two levels. All About Me is for students working at a K-6 level and Education Planner is for Grades 7 through Post-secondary. SWLSB teachers with special needs students in secondary may want to use All About Me. If this is your case, please contact the ACGC Consultant at SWLSB and we will change the student's access to the more appropriate product.
