In order to meet the objectives of this ACGC item students must:
Compare the differences and similarities between the different paths to qualification in the education system
The Learning Strategy for this ACGC is COMPARE. This means that the lesson must explicitly teach student how to compare knowledge.

Students will:

- Gain a basic knowledge about the Québec school system
- Become aware of the paths to qualification offered in the Quebec school system
- Compare the similarities and differences in various paths to qualification (e.g. duration, admission requirements), etc.
- Understand that the number of years of schooling required for qualification depends on the academic pathway chosen
- Understand that choices made in Secondary school can have an influence on the choices for qualification available in the future

- Teach students how to identify similarities and differences in order to compare items of information
- Provide students with resources that describe the various pathways to qualification in Quebec
- An excellent time to present this information is prior to when students make Secondary 3 course selections
- Contact your guidance professional and verify that the information that is being provided to students regarding the Quebec School System is accurate
- Have students use tools like Venn Diagrams, tables or graphic organizers to compare similarities and differences between the various pathways to qualifications
- Have students reflect on how comparing the different pathways to qualification will be useful to them is making decisions about occupational choices in the future
