In order to meet the objectives of this ACGC item students must:
Anticipate how personal and academic choices influence the pursuit of his/her studies
The Learning Strategy for this ACGC is ANTICIPATE. This means that the lesson must explicitly teach students how to anticipate the future.

Try to predict or to envision knowledge, procedures, actions or situations that might come up or that would be useful in tasks or situations; to foresee the resources required (BĂ©gin 2008)ANTICIPATE:

- Reflect on the concept of choices, both academic and personal, and how how those choices can influence our decisions
- Become familiar with the choices that they face in as they progress through the Quebec School System
- Think about the future impact or consequences of the choices that they make throughout their academic career
- Predict or anticipate several different scenarios for how the future might look like depending the personal and academic choices that they make
- Reflect on how anticipating the future can make it easier to make choices in the present

- View the video above to get students thinking about choices
- Have students consider the choices made by characters in literature, historical figures or celebrities and the impact that those choices had on the future
- Have students list the steps involved in making a decision
- Research sufficient information (qualitative and quantitative)
- Set criteria to select relevant information from the research
- Adopt criteria to evaluate the impact of anticipated outcomes based on the information collected
- Reflect on what decision seems most appropriate based on the information at hand
- Have students list the choices that they envision in the present and in the future based on their Personal Profile and selected Occupations
- Include the decisions they will have to make regarding Math, Science and electives in Secondary IV and V
- You may want to use the High School tab in MyBlueprint to have students develop the list of courses they are currently taking. This tool will help them see how many credits they have left to complete in order to attain a secondary school diploma
- You may want to have students use a decision tree to chart out the outcomes of the decisions based on choices that students make

- Access myBlueprint.ca at SWLSB as follows:
- Click School Account Log in
- Enter your SWLSB credentials (the same way you would log into a school device)
- Go to High School and add both the courses the student is currently enrolled in and those they anticipate taking in the future
- Add the results to the Portfolio
