The six ACGC items required in Secondary Cycle One can be taught in any order, as long as all students have an opportunity to experience the content during the two years that they are in Cycle One. However, the sequence suggested above is more naturally appropriate.
That being said, the transition to Cycle Two of Secondary is a major preoccupation in Secondary II, so most schools opt to focus on the ACGC items related to the Quebec School System in Secondary II and to reserve the other three content items for Secondary I students. In cases where there are split classes or other extenuating circumstances, it is perfectly acceptable to change the order that the Secondary Cycle One content is taught from year to year in order to assure that all students are exposed to all the content.
The files to the left of the title of each item below open to reveal lessons plans that can be used to explore the content. These lesson plans are approved by MEES and can also be found on the Vibe Platform.
