In order to meet the objectives of this ACGC item students must:
Develop a portrait of what does or does not interest him/her inside or outside school
- i.e. Group interests and non-interests in order to see commonalities between them
The Learning Strategy for this ACGC is DEVELOP. This means that the lesson must explicitly teach students how to develop information.

- Introduce interests by having students describe the interests of characters in the literature they are reading
- Have students take online surveys to determine where their interests lie, e.g.
- Have a Holland Code Party in your class to help students see where their interests lie
- Discuss the results in terms of the things that do not interest students. Ask students if they are interested in things they know nothing about. Discuss how sometimes learning about an occupation leads to a new interest.

- Introduce a new occupation at the beginning of each day. The following websites have good videos of careers:
- Discuss the skills and tasks that are needed in each subject in school. Which do students enjoy or find less interesting?
- Discuss the skills or tasks that students use in their leisure time. Which do students enjoy or find less interesting?
- Have students make a inventory of their interests and non-interests
- Use a graphic organizer to group students' interests and non-interests, for example according to the Holland Code
- To develop a portrait of what does and does not interest them inside and outside of school:
- Students can use Canva, Google Slides or Publisher to create a poster showing their fields of interest and non-interest
- Students can plan how they will present their fields of interest and non-interest on Instagram or other Social media platform
- Students could create art (visual, dramatic or musical) showing their fields of interest
- Students could write a short text on their interests and then transform it into a Wordle that represents their fields of interest. Remind students that the more frequently a word is used, the bigger it is in the Wordle graphics
- Students can represent their fields of interests in their Portfolio in MyBlueprint
- Go to myBlueprint.ca at SWLSB
- Go to Who Am I? and complete the Interests Survey to get a Holland Code score
- Add the Survey results to the Portfolio
